March was another slow reading month for me, I just haven’t felt like reading lately and when I do read I just get really busy out of nowhere. Basically, the only thing that kind of saves me during these slumps is getting the new releases that I’ve been waiting for. I’ll get the new book, spend a week or so reading it and then that’s that. The cycle repeats itself. Has anyone else ever gone through something like this?
A Conjuring of Light
by Victoria Schwab
rating: 5 out of 5
A brilliant masterpiece of a finale to a wonderful trilogy. While it took me almost two weeks to read (I didn’t feel like reading most of the days) I enjoyed every page of this book, felt like my heart was being ripped to shreds, and cried so much.
The Hate U Give
by Angie Thomas
rating: 5 out of 5
Number 2 of my top ten highly anticipated books of 2017 list, and again, I loved this so much! Honestly, I don’t know what to say about this at all. It’s raw, emotional, it doesn’t hold back, it was realistic and perfect. Starr had wonderful character development and all of the characters were amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this book.
Thirteen Reasons Why
by Jay Ashur
rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Overall I didn’t think much about this book, I think it’s a little overrated and overhyped, yet I loved the mystery and the suspense this book had and I never wanted to put it down.
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda
by Becky Albertalli
rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Audiobook reread. Just as amazing as the first time I read it! The narration was spot on and I was giddy smiling all over again. I need more Simon in my life!
PS: how excited are you for the movie?
How to Date a Douchebag
by Sarah Ney
my rating: 3 out of 5 stars
Honestly I was kind of bored for most of this book and so many of the characters problems would be solved if they would just communicate with each other, like seriously how hard is that???
