May Book Haul

I was bad this month. I was attempting to do the Project 5 thing, where I have to read 5 books before I can buy 1…as you can see, that did not work.

I have no self-control, and Barnes and Nobles bargain area had too many good purchases and I couldn’t live with myself if I were to pass them up, and the BF just encourages/enables me. Long story short my hands were basically tied 🙂

A Court of Mist and Fury
by Sarah J Maas

I have a funny story about getting A Court of Mist and Fury, this was one of my most anticipated books of the year. I even had a countdown on my blog. So of course, I had it preordered and Bloomsbury had a cool pre-order deal where if you sent in proof of your pre-order they sent you a tote bag related to A Court of Mist and Fury, so Sarah J Maas was doing a book signing in Seattle and I went to that. It was a ticketed event so I bought two tickets, one for me and one for the BF, and a copy of the book came with the ticket. So I have three copies of it. I’m thinking about doing a giveaway because I don’t need 3 copies so if you haven’t read A Court of Mist and Fury and you want to but haven’t been able to get a copy yet, leave a comment and let me know you would be interested in a giveaway.

The Love that Split the World
By Emily Henry

At first, I wasn’t overly interested in this book but then I read the synopsis and it gripped me, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and wanting to read it so I had to get it.

The Raven King
by Maggie Stiefvater

Sadly I am not caught up on the series yet but now I can sit down and marathon everything.

Inked Armor
by Helena Hunting

Earlier this year in January, I bought Clipped Wings which is book 1 of this duology at Barnes and Noble in the bargain section. So when I saw Inked Armor I had to pick it up as well.

Life after Life
By Kate Atkinson

I remember seeing this a couple years ago and being really interested in it and I saw it in the bargain area in Barnes and Noble, and you know the story, I couldn’t pass it up.

My Heart and Other Black Holes
by Jasmine Warga

This sounds heartbreaking and thought provoking and I wanted a read like that.

The One and Only Ivan
by Katherine Applegate

I’ve been wanting this ever since PeruseProject showed it in one of her haul videos.

by Colleen Hoover

It’s CoHo. Nuff said.

The Problem with Forever
by Jennifer L Armentrout

This synopsis gripped my mind. I needed it immediately.

When We Collided
by Emery Lord

I’ve been craving some contemporary books and I’ve heard amazing things about this one.

by Melissa Landers

I am under the impression that this has space pirates and I needed it because of that.

The Cuckoos Calling
by Robert Galbraith/ JK Rowling

This pretty hardcover was 6.98 dollars at B&N in the bargain area and I needed it. I actually passed it up once and regretted it almost immediately so I had to go back and get it.

The Silkworm
by Robert Galbraith/ JK Rowling

Again it was 6.98 and again I regretted not buying it the first time I saw it so I had to go back and get it.

The Star Touched Queen
by Roshani Chokshi

I had heard so many good things about it and I simply needed it.

The Queen of the Tearling *duplicate buy*

Omg story time! So last year I bought a paperback copy of the Queen of the Tearling and started reading it, got about a quarter of the way through and had to put it down and haven’t picked it up since but I really want to read it. But I bought the Invasion of the Tearling in hardcover because I needed it and see again, I have no self-control, and I hated the different formats, I hated the paperback cover and everything. I’ve been wanting to replace my paperback copy with a hardcover but it was around 17 dollars on Amazon so I kept putting off. So one day when the BF and I were looking around Barnes and Noble, the BF came up to me saying look at this pretty book, lo and behold, it was a hardcover of the Queen of the Tearling for 5 dollars. FIVE DOLLARS! I had to get it.

And now the BF is my hero because not only did he find a 5 dollar hardcover copy of The Queen of the Tearling but one time he also found the last copy of the illustrated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone after the bookseller had told me that it was out of stock. He is forever my hero and that is also why I drag him with me every single time I go book shopping. It doesn’t hurt that he also carries all my books for me…

So what books did you buy this month?
Do we have any similar books?
Have you read any of these books?

Oops another Book Outlet Haul

I hate the shipping on Book Outlet. It takes so long to get here! Even better it’s through UPSMI so UPS doesn’t even deliver it, they just drop it off at a post office where it sits there for a couple days, then (this is if it wasn’t even delivered to my post office) that post office brings it to my post office where it sits there for a few MORE days then it is delivered to me.

GRR! it frustrates me and it’s a huge pain in my ass, I just want my books!

Does anyone else ever have this problem? I think I may be too spoiled with Amazons two-day shipping.

Anyways onto books. A couple of days after I placed my first order on book outlet I looked through it again just to see what was there. And there were a couple of books added on that I really wanted so I snatched them up before they could go out of stock.

Book Outlet Haul!

So I recently placed an order on Book Outlet.
If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw this photo of a mini book haul from Barnes and Noble where I purchased a paperback copy of the Bone Season. I was so excited to finally be reading this, I’ve heard great things about it. Then out of curiosity, I log onto book outlet.
Where I found hardcovers of The Bone Season and also the Mime Order for $2.99 and $4.99. So I had to have them. I ended up taking my paperback copy back to Barnes and Noble and ordered the beautiful hardcovers. I also ended up ordering quite a few more, so there is my Book Outlet haul.

I’ll start off with the Bone Season and the Mime Order. I can’t wait to read these! Actually… I’m just going to take these along with Glass Sword and go barricade myself in my room…See you when I finish them.

I also ordered

Belated Christmas Haul

These are all the books I bought for myself with some of my Christmas money.

First up I picked up the rest of the Bloodlines series

The Fiery Heart
Silver Shadows
The Ruby Circle

All by Richelle Mead

Maggie Kitty! She looks kind of offended that I placed these books next to her.

I loved this series, I dont know why I waited so long to read these!

I also decided to pick up the Sweet Evil trilogy

Sweet Evil
Sweet Peril
Sweet Reckoning

All by Wendy Higgens

Amazon and I need to have a little talk, when you buy a brand new book and when you take it out the box, this should not be happening!

What’s your deal Amazon?!

I picked up some new releases like

Cruel Crown

How gorgeous is that cover?

I also picked up all the Bright Places, I’ve heard this book is wonderful and heartbreaking and I can’t wait to read it!

So yeah that’s it for this book haul! Unfortunately, I don’t have a pretty picture of them all stacked together, oh well.

Have you gotten any exciting books recently?

Comic book haul

The other day I realized that it’s been a while since I’ve been to my local comic book store, more like a couple months. I thought to myself that my absence from comics is unacceptable, so I went to the comic book store and bought a couple comics, and a few Funko pops. I just love those little collectibles!

First up I bought a few continuations of a series that I really like

Gotham Academy issues #11, #12, #13

Obviously, I’m not caught up on the series since I had to pick these up, but I’m really not caught up on the series because I think I left off on issue #5? #6? I don’t know anymore but I want to sit down and just marathon this series now.

Synopsis via DC Comics

WELCOME TO GOTHAM ACADEMY! Gotham City’s most prestigious prep school is a very weird place. It’s got a spooky campus, oddball teachers, and rich benefactors always dropping by…like that weirdo Bruce Wayne. But nothing is as strange is the students!

Like, what’s up with Olive Silverlock? Is she crazy or what? Where did she go last summer? And what’s the deal with her creepy mom? And how come that Freshman MAPS is always following her around? And is she still going out with Kyle? P.S. Did you hear the rumor about the ghost in the North Hall?!

GOTHAM ACADEMY is a new, monthly teen drama set in the shadow of Batman and the craziness of Gotham City, with new characters and old plus a secret tie to Gotham’s past…

The Mighty Thor issues #1 and #2

I loved the new Thor series last year! I was not prepared to see who the new Thor was, My guess was wayyyyyyy off! Seriously I didn’t see it coming at all.

Silk issue #1

Not caught up on the previous Silk series but when I am I am going to want this for sure!

Radioactive Spider-Gwen

Again, I’m not sure what this is about but I liked Spider-Gwen so I want to give this a shot.

Funko Pops!

They are so cute! I already have a Stormtrooper funko pop guarding my star wars books and when I saw this Darth Vader I knew I had to have him!

I also have a little collection of Harley and Ivy, it weighs in Harleys favor since she’s more popular than Ivy, that’s a separate rant for another time, though. But I never see the Harley with the Mallet, I always see the one with the cork gun, but I like the mallet a little bit more.

So that’s it for this little comic book haul. Have you read any of these? Do you collect Funko Pops?

Amazon Books Adventure!

I was so excited to go here! I usually love going to the University Village and shopping, they have so many cute stores that I don’t have nearby, like Anthropologie. But you’re here for books.

So this is Amazon’s first physical bookstore.

I want to say it’s awesome, I really really do. But I’m a little claustrophobic and I hate crowds. This store is a little on the small side and just feels really crowded, but on the other hand, it is pretty awesome. Books are sold at Amazon price and there are scanners around the store so that you can see how much the prices are since there are no price tags showing Amazon prices anywhere! That kind of annoyed me.

While I was wandering around I decided to pick up

The Song of Achilles
by Madeline Miller

I’ve heard so many good things about this and I love a good retelling of Greek mythology so I can’t wait to read this 🙂

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda
by Becky Albertalli

I’m so happy that I picked this up, I have already read and devoured it, this book was so sweet and adorable!

To All the Boys I’ve loved before
By Jenny Han

Another contemporary that I’ve had my eye on for a while

The Sleeper and the Spindle
by Neil Gaiman

This book was so good! Loved it!

The Illustrated Harry Potter Edition
by J.K. Rowling.

It’s so beautiful! No joke I almost started crying with the BF walked up to me holding it! Seriously my eyes were actually starting to tear up. I was so happy that it was there especially when the booksellers were telling us it was probably out of stock. He is my hero!

I also picked up some beautiful coloring books

The Enchanted Forest coloring book
The Lost Ocean coloring book

These are so beautiful, but kind of a pain in the butt to be honest but in their own baffling and infuriating way, they are super relaxing. I’ve been slowly making my way through Secret Garden but there’s a couple in Enchanted Forest that I’ve got my eye on.

I also went to Half Price Books and picked up a couple books that had been on my radar for a while.

Carry On
by Rainbow Rowell

Cant wait! I am reading this soon!

by Sophia Amoruso

I haven’t read much nonfiction and I’ve heard a lot of good things about this book.

Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops
by Jen Campbell

Oh gosh, this was hilarious, people crack me up with some of the things they say. Anyone who’s ever worked in a customer service position could highly appreciate this.

I am so excited to have Carry On and I am on pins and needles waiting for a chance to read this. Hopefully this week! *Fingers crossed*

Barnes and Noble Shenanigans

This is an addition to the Ongoing List of Reasons Why Cassidy Shouldn’t Have a Credit Card. I seriously shouldn’t but at least, I’m responsible enough to know that lol. Adult Points for trying? Eh, I’ll give them to myself anyways.

Here are all the of the books I bought at Barnes and Noble throughout November.

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

The Princess Bride by William Goldman

I love this movie, I’ve watched it dozens of times growing up and recently made my BF watch it for the first time. I can’t wait to sit down and read this, though, especially since books are always better then the movies 🙂

Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys

Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher

Tatiana and Alexander by Paullina Simons

This is the sequel to The Bronze Horseman and I am so excited to see where this story goes!

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

This sounds phenomenal and I have heard so many great things about it, its a bit long, but I’m excited to dive into it.

November 9 by Colleen Hoover

a-knight-of-the-seven-kingdoms-jpg (1)
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms by George R.R. Martin

I have mixed feelings about this book, on one hand I’m expected to read it, I love the world of Westeros, and Martin’s writing is always something that I enjoy. On the other hand, if I remember right, the publication of this book PUSHED BACK WINDS OF WINTER and I REALLY want that book! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Can you tell I’m frustrated about Winds of Winter? I just need it in my life right about NOW.

Eon by Alison Goodman

Nightmare before Christmas by Tim Burton

EEEEE! I was so excited to get this book, I love the Nightmare before Christmas and reading the picture book was so fun. I loved the illustrations.

Omg real quick. Children’s books are so outragously priced! Its extortion! I was baffled to see a kids book costing almost 20 dollars. I only bought it because I had a 20% off coupon and when it doubled with my membership it took the price down big time, enough to where I was okay spending that money.

by Marissa Meyer

Of course I had to jump on this, I actually had it preordered but forgot to mention it in my online haul. 🙂

There we go part two of my shopaholic binge.
Until next time.

November Haul part 1

Part one: Books I purchased from Amazon

So these are the books that I:
either had on preorder,
or they had a good deal going on,
or I couldn’t find these books in any other bookstore and had to order them online.

By Susan Ee

World After
By Susan Ee

End of Days
By Susan Ee

Ten Thousand Skies Above You
by Claudia Gray

A Darker Shade of Magic
by V.E. Schwab

More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops
by Jen Campbell

Their Fractured Light
by Amie Kauffman and Megan Spooner

So yeah that’s all the books I ordered through Amazon in the month of November. I also went to Amazon books in Seattle for the first time and bought some books from there 🙂 so I will show those later on.

Same thing for Half Price Books and Barnes and Nobel. I went there a lot throughout November…they kept giving me 20% off coupons, I had to go back haha. Not really but I did get some good deals there.

October Book Haul

So many good books have been released this fall, I don’t even know where to begin! I still haven’t been able to get my hands on Rainbow Rowell’s new book Carry On or George R. R. Martin’s Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and don’t even get me started on how I don’t own the illustrated Harry Potter edition yet.

But regardless of all that I did purchase some new books that I am very excited about

So let’s jump straight in

Six of Crows
by Leigh Bardugo
I am so excited to pick this book up, I’m currently reading the Grisha trilogy and after that I still have a stack of books I’d like to get through before October is over so I’m not sure when I’m going to read this, but I hope it’s soon.

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard book 1 The Sword of Summer
by Rick Riordan

I’m honestly more excited to read this than I am to finish Percy Jackson or to start the Heros of Olympus series. I love Norse mythology, plus you know, Thor and Loki. (Insert heart eyes here)

Ice Like Fire
by Sarah Raasch
Yay! I really liked Snow like Ashes so I’m excited to read this…again not sure when its going to happen but I hope soon

The Rose Society
by Marie Lu
Already devoured this and loved it!
Here’s a link to the post I made about it The Rose Society

Black Widow Forever
by Margaret Stohl
Had to have it. Currently at the bottom of my to-be-read list but I had to have it

The White Rose
by Amy Ewing
Again already read it since it was a pretty short book but I don’t plan on posting a review. I just don’t really have much to say about it, I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it, at the end I felt “meh” about it so I don’t see a point in reviewing it.

Happily Ever After
by Keira Cass
I was so excited to hear that the Selection novellas were being published in a bind up and I had to have them.

by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff
I don’t have the words to describe how excited I was to receive this. There are no words. It’s a beautiful masterpiece!!

Thats everything I purchased in October, I dont think I’m going to buying anything else this month, so yeah thats all I got
