WWW Wednesday 8/7

12 Autumn Moments

I am so tired this week, I feel like a bear getting ready for hibernation because most of what I want to do is eat and go to bed, but I’m also experiencing some insomnia so even though I’m tired, I can’t sleep. Yay. That’s where reading comes in so its all okay. Right?

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words. Simply answer the following questions:

What did you recently finish reading?

What are you currently reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What a fantastic reading week! I loved everything that I read over the week and couldn’t ask for better books.

Priory of the Orange Tree
by Samantha Shannon

I honestly don’t even have words for this, I enjoyed every single minute of reading it. Even though it is massive, it reads very quickly and even though I am satisfied with how the story ended for everyone, I really want more of this world.

Vengeful
by V.E. Schwab

Oh I loved this so much, I loved Marcella and her storyline, and I’m hoping to learn more about June in the next book. Fingers crossed!

King of Scars
by Leigh Bardugo

I think my favorite thing about this is how the Grishaverse expanded, even more, I wouldn’t have thought that possible after the Grisha Trilogy and the Six of Crows duology. I just feel like I learned more about the Grishaverse and that’s awesome that there’s more to learn. Zoya is my everything, I was so happy to learn more about her, and Nina broke my heart over and over. I can’t wait for book 2.

Aurora Rising
by Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff

This is such a fun sci-fi read, all of these characters are really fleshed out and I loved how the files dividing chapters were able to inform the reader about the world and alien species without it feeling info-dumpy or overwhelming.

What are you currently reading?

The Obelisk Gate
by N.K. Jemisin

I am so excited to continue on with the Broken Earth trilogy, N.K. Jemisin has such a unique writing style that I cant wait to read more of.

The Great Alone
by Kristin Hannah

I’ve been intending to read this for so long and I’m finally going to do it! This is going to fulfill one of the challenges for the Goodreads Summer Reading, the prompt is “Good as gold: Read a book that won a Goodreads Choice Award.”

What do you think you’ll read next?

Red, White, and Royal Blue
by Casey McQuiston

I can’t wait to read this, the hype is so real for it and it sounds like it’s all well deserved, I think after Obelisk Gate and Great Alone I’m probably going to be in the mood for something light-hearted since those two have serious and probably heartbreaking topics discussed. This is going to fulfill the prompt “New voices: Read a debut novel,” for the Goodreads Summer Reading

Sorry I’m Late, I Didn’t Want to Come
by Jessica Pan

Again with the desire for lightheartedness, if I was smart, I would have split them up in between the serious books. Again if. Oh well, my heart will just have to survive. This book sounds hilarious and relatable and I’m using it to fulfill the prompt  “Stranger than fiction: Read a nonfiction book published this year.” for the Goodreads Summer Reading Challenge

I’m feeling like I’m going to be accomplishing a lot regarding reading this week. If all goes to plan I’ll have read three books for three prompts in the summer challenge.

What are you reading this week?
