I didn’t really have anything to write about today’s prompt. I can’t think of anything crazy I’ve ever done in the name of books. So because of that, I started scrolling through the prompt list and an idea to talk about books I’ve recommended to friends and family popped into my head. That’s what I went with.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

my prompt: Books I’ve recommended to others in my life
by V.E. Schwab
I’m currently lending this to my dad, I chose this one because I think he will enjoy the superhero tropes that are slightly shifted.
Ready Player One
by Ernest Cline
I’ve recommended this to several of my family members, I made my mom read it, I bought a copy for my dad to read and both of them really enjoyed it as well.
by Neil Gaiman
I’m currently lending this to my dad as well but I’m also second guessing my choice on this. I chose it for the unique road trip with dozens of different and interesting characters that show up, I also thought that he would appreciate the humor as well.
Strange the Dreamer
by Laini Taylor
I loaned this to a friend and it made me so happy when she texted me a bunch of hearts and heart eye emojis.
by Brandon Sanderson
I loaned this to the same friend as above because another one of her friends loves Brandon Sanderson and wanted her to read his work.
by Maria V Snyder
The same friend, she read this one as well and enjoyed it a lot.
The Simple Wild
by K.A. Tucker
I loaned this one to my grandma, she’s not a big romance fan but she used to live in Alaska and since this one is set in Alaska I recommended it to her.
Next Year In Havana
by Chanel Cleeton
Another loan to my grandma and shes set to start it today! I’m so excited for her to read it.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Loaned to my grandma, she hasn’t started it yet but I will keep you posted on her thoughts! This is another one that I’m very excited for her to start.
Have you loaned any books out to family or friends? Which ones and how did they like them?
