12 Autumn Moments

I am so out of it this week, I feel permanently tired no matter how much sleep I get. I remember in high school I always joked about wanting to drag around an IV filled with coffee.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World Of Words. Simply answer the following questions:

The Way of Kings
by Brandon Sanderson

I enjoyed this well enough but I do have a few issues with it mostly that I’m still a little unsure about how the world functions and also that Brandon Sanderson doesn’t allow his characters to accept any kind of complexity. A lot of issues and thoughts need to be in simple black and white terms to be acceptable and it gets kind of old and frustrating.

by Neil Gaiman

This was creative, strange, fun, and adventurous all at the same time. I had listed this in my predicted five-star reads and while I did enjoy it, it sadly wasn’t a five star read for me. I never felt connected to any of the characters or even to the story, I didn’t feel an urge to get back into the story when I had to put it down.

I’ll also say that I highly, highly, highly recommend the audiobook. Its narrated by Neil Gaiman himself and I just love when authors narrate their own books, it makes it so special.

Next Year In Havana
by Chanel Cleeton

I’m currently 135 pages into this and I am really enjoying it. Chanel’s writing has a lyrical feel to it and at points when she’s describing Cuba, there’s something about her writing that makes it feel like you’re reading a love letter to Cuba.

The Hollow Crown
by Jeff Wheeler

I finished the first three books of the Kingfountain books last year and I was feeling ready to continue on with the series.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I plan on participating Zoe’s 24-hour readathon this Saturday and I think this is my tbr, nothing is final.

Four Dead Queens
by Astrid Scholte

Umbrella Academy vol 1 and 2
