For a long time, I was pretty firm on seeing a series through to the end. I thought that because I read book 1 that I had committed myself to stick with a series, and it took me a while to realize that isn’t the case. Just because I purchased the first book in a series doesn’t mean that I’ve signed a commitment of my time.
So with that in mind here some series that I have no interest in finishing or are satisfied leaving off where I did in the series.
The 5th Wave Trilogy
I keep going back and forth on if I want to continue with this series, I read the 5th Wave a couple years ago and I enjoyed it, I have Infinite Sea at home but it keeps getting pushed further and further down my TBR and I struggle to remember what happened in the 5th Wave.
Of Posideon trilogy
I barely remember how Of Triton ended, but I do remember feeling satisfied with how the story ended, I also didn’t care it and lost all interest in continuing with the series.
This was another series I was debating on continuing with but then I realized that I didn’t remember anything about Splintered and I didn’t want to reread it, I struggled to finish it the first time and decided to just unhaul this trilogy.
The Hundredth Queen trilogy
This is an instance where I have no idea why I didn’t like this but yet there’s a lot of high praise but I thought this book was slow and I didn’t like any of the characters.
I barely remember anything that happened in this story, I remember pushing myself to finish it while I was on a camping trip. I remember feeling very confused about things that happened with the storyline and at the end of the day, I didn’t enjoy reading this.
I did not care for this book and I’m disappointed in myself for the way I pushed through it because I remember it put me in quite a slump. I loved the concept of this book and I loved the idea of the story but the execution just didn’t do it for me.
I enjoyed the idea of this book and I read it because its set in Scotland but I was bored while reading this and I had to push myself to finish it.
Sin Eaters Daughter
There was minimal plot throughout this book, I thought it was predictable, and I didn’t like any of the characters.
I read Nightshade, Wolfsbane, and Bloodrose and while I liked those, by the time I got Snakeroot I was just done with the series. I didn’t feel a need to continue on and it sounds like this was more of a companion novel.
Kinda the same reasons as above, I felt no need to continue on and I couldn’t get into it when I tried to read it.
I despised this. I wrote a review that you can see here: Beautiful Disaster, its a really old review but I doubt my feelings have changed.
Are there any series that you’re not interested in finishing?
