I participated in the 24 in 48 hr readathon last year in July and I had a great time, I read so much and enjoyed everything I read. Ever since then I’ve been eagerly awaiting the next round that is taking place from January 26th through the 27th, I’ll link the sign-up page on their website here
So the goal of the 24 in 48 hr readathon is to read for 24 hours within a 48 hour time period. Last year I think I read for 12 hours. 24 hours would be my ultimate goal of course but my realistic goal is to read for 16 or 20 hours, I feel fairly confident about that goal.
Last year I sketched out a chart in my journal and used that to help keep track of my progress, I also saw a tip on the twitter page for the readathon that suggested using the stopwatch on your phone and just start whenever you start reading and hit pause when you take a break. This method worked out really well for me and also helped with keeping track.
For my TBR I choose some shorter books and I also poked through audible to see how long the corresponding audiobooks were. My reading speed is pretty quick so I usually take the audiobook time and divide it in half and it’s pretty accurate for me. That’s how I gauge my TBRs for shorter timed readathons like this one and for 24 hr readathons. I went through the audio times and added them up for a grand total, if I can maintain my consistent reading speed then I should be able to read all of these within 23.5 hours.
