Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
January 8: Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2019
There are a lot of January releases in this list. Seven out of ten. I’ve been looking forward to January for a long time now, January is also my birth month and I’m turning 27 on the 11th! It’s weird to think about, for some weird reason that I can’t explain even to myself, being 27 has some kind of odd importance to it. I really don’t know why just something in my mind has built up age 27, I don’t have any weird milestones around the age and I’ve never assigned any goals to reach by 27.
These are the books that I’m really anticipating right now, I may be picking up the January 8th books tonight after work, I’m that eager and I can just say it’s my birthday gift from me, to me…
Slayer by Kiersten White release date is January 8th
I loved watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer growing up, its a show I’ve been dying to rewatch as well. So when I heard that Kiersten White was released a book that was canon in the Buffy universe, sign me up.
The Winter of the Witch release date is January 8th
Last year I read the Bear and the Nightingale and I adored it. I was drawn to it after hearing that it was centered around Russian folklore and I have a weakness for Russian folklore settings. I have yet to read the Girl in the Tower but I have it with me today and I plan to start it on my lunch hour.
In an Absent Dream release date is January 8th
This is my favorite cover of the entire series so far. I love that tree and the door its so inviting, I just long to open that door and step through. I can’t wait for this. I just looked up the summary and found that it is set at a goblin market? Color me intrigued.
The Wicked King release date is January 8th
I read the Cruel Prince last year when it was at its peak hype and I did enjoy it, the beginning wasn’t something I was fond of but I was entranced for the ending and I need to know what happens next.
On The Come Up release date is February 5th
I’m beyond ecstatic for Angie Thomas’ next book, I have been pushing The Hate U Give on damn near everyone in my life that I can.
Undying release date is January 8th
I really enjoyed Unearthed and I’m very much looking forward to Undying, that cliffhanger!
King of Scars release date is January 29th
Nikolai Lantsov!!! He finally gets his own story!
The Priory of the Orange Tree release date is February 26th
I don’t know much about this, I’ve read the available books for the Bone Season series and have loved them all, this sounds like an amazing epic fantasy and reviewers that I trust and have a similar reading taste to mine have been giving this stellar reviews.
Children of Virtue and Vengeance release date is March 5th
I loved Children of Blood and Bone and I really want more of the characters and the world.
Dead Queens Club release date is January 29th
I just saw this last night (Jan 3rd) and damn near lost my mind from pure excitement. I saw the pitch of Mean Girls meets the Tudors and I feel an eager need to get my hands on this. I love Mean Girls and I’ve always enjoyed reading about the Tudor era. This crossover just sounds amazing.
