Some Books Ive read lately

Something really exciting happened!

I gave my dad a copy of Ready Player One and he loved it!
Honestly, this made me so ridiculously happy.

I also lent him my copy of Red Rising and he’s reading that right now.

Addicted to You
by Krista and Becca Ritchie
rating: 4 out of 5 stars

My thoughts: A fun yet serious New Adult romance that follows the lives of Lily Calloway who is addicted to sex and Loren Hale who is an alcoholic. Since both of them come from wealthy families appearances are everything and these two are hiding their addictions by pretending to be in a relationship. I almost hate to say this sentence but there was something about this book that was really addicting. I didn’t want to put it down and just wanted more. These two characters are so deeply flawed and hurting so badly that I just wanted to reach through the book and comfort them.

This a novella taking place in between Addicted to You and Addicted for Now, this one was a bit slower paced then Addicted for Now was but it was still very enjoyable.

Wires and Nerve
by Marissa Meyer
rating: 4 out of 5 stars

My thoughts: I really enjoyed this, I loved the storyline and the artwork, and it was so nice to be back in the Lunar Chronicles world and to be with these characters again. I also enjoy seeing what’s coming next, every time I think I’m satisfied with the ending for this series a continuation of the story is created and I just want more. The only thing that bothered me was Winters character, she didn’t feel like the Winter we had gotten to know and loved and I know she had the device surgery but still her quirkiness wasn’t there and I missed it a lot.

By Your Side
by Kasie West
rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I was really excited to read this and I got even more excited while reading it because the main character had anxiety, mental health is so important and I love seeing it brought up in books. Kasie West is probably my favorite contemporary author, her books are an auto-buy for me. Plus what kind of book nerd doesn’t fantasize about being locked in the library for a long weekend? That girl is living the dream. By Your Side had a good balance of cutesy love mixed with serious-bringing-you-back-down-to-Earth-ness.

The Distance Between Us
by Kasie West
rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I needed another Kasie West book after By Your Side and this was calling my name. It was cute and I loved the quirks Kasie adds in her books and I really loved the “dates” that Caymen and Xander went on.

Crystal Storm
by Morgan Rhodes
rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

And then there was this, there was so much build up in this book that it was kind of slower paced and almost boring. I’m glad I finished this and I am looking forward to book 6 and seeing all of the build up pay off.

The Princess Saves Herself in this One

Oh my love! This was amazing and I couldn’t ask for anything better, these poems were beautiful, raw, and packed with emotion.

What am I currently reading?

Ice like Fire by Sarah Raasch
HAHAHAHAHAH I started this in November! Hahaha and I haven’t picked it up since! I just wasn’t in the mood for this back in November and had to put it aside. I really want to get through my Goodreads currently reading pile and I think I’m ready to pick this up.

Golden Son by Pierce Brown
Another book I’ve been reading this book for so long, I started this on January 17th and I am only halfway through it now. For some reason whenever I read this I only seem to sit down and read like 30 pages, maybe 50 max. Then I don’t pick up the book for a couple days. That isn’t to say that I’m not enjoying it, there’s just a lot going on and a lot of build up. Once the ball starts rolling I’m sure I’ll be glued to the book.
