A while ago, Maren over at The Worn Bookmark posted about the Never Ending TBR pile and I can totally relate to that so I checked out the post. She was talking about how she and Ashley were talking about their TBR piles and found a site that calculates how long it would take them to read their tbrs, and I thought to myself “I have gott (hehe) to check this out”
It’s fun to look through this, although I think it would take me longer than the time it estimates since a lot of my tbr consists of bigger books and it takes me a while to read those bigger books. I may try to (remember) to do this yearly. I think it would be interesting to compare these, or maybe I should wait until I’m 27 and see how the progress goes. I love comparing data like this.
The only problem with this is I would have to go on a book buying ban for the 2 years and 2 months and there is no way I could ever be able to do that! I can’t even go 2 weeks without going book shopping!
Oh, I want to try this too!!

It said 7 years!! I’m going to post it with my Beat the Backlist to show everyone how important it is for us to have either a manageable TBR or to be more selective about what you put on your TBR! I have 745 books on there!

That is insane!! 😨😵

I know! And I’ll never read all those anyway…I’m going to make sure I go through that list and cut it down!!

I did this too. I sued my good reads to read list as the number. If I don’t add any books to my list it will be 12 years and 7 months before I finish.

Hot damn! It can never be said that book lovers aren’t ambitious 📚

I will never read all of them, but I can’t help but add cool new things. 😛

Same here for me, I probably won’t read all of mine but at the same time I’m not going to get rid of any, at least not any time soon.

I may be forced to get rid of some of my books here soon. I am running out of space. But I won’t part with them easily.

No that won’t be easy at all! Good luck 😕

Oh no… Well now I have to try this myself. Good luck with your TBR!

I got 2 years and 3 months as my result for 278 books … IF I can read 120 a year like I did in 2016 AND not add any books. :’D (Definitely not going to happen.)

My thoughts exactly! I don’t know about you but my TBR feels more manageable now

I feel somewhat distraught knowing how long it’ll take me, but I also feel better knowing the actual amount of time it would take me. It’ll make me consider the book I’m buying a little more before actually purchasing it, for sure!

I just had to do this myself now! XD I “only” have 44 books on my TBR so there is that. It says that I’ll be finished with my TBR in August of this year…which is NEVER going to happen mostly because I have a lot of George R.R. Martin’s books to read and they take me ages to finish. Plus I do have a lot of other giant fantasy books, soooo I don’t think that is going to happen!

That’s the same reason why I don’t think mine would happen either! Those giant fantasy books take so long for me to read 😔

Great post! I just had a go at the TBR calculator and it reckons it will take me nine years to read my currently owned TBR pile! I have 1887 books on my TBR at the moment and usually read around 200 books a year. There’s no way I can go nine years without buying any new books though so I’m not sure that I’m ever going to get to the bottom of my TBR! Eeeek!

Woah! That’s insane! You must have an amazing book collection ❤ right I don’t have the discipline to do a book ban for 2 months. I don’t want to think how crazy my book shopping would be after a nine years book ban 😨

I know, it’s all got a bit out of control! I can’t do a book buying ban either, but I’m trying to focus on the books I already own for a while.
