A Classical Book Haul

20161231_090812An ongoing goal of mine is to expand/grow my classic literature collection. Classics are a genre that I lack having read the most in yet I have the biggest desire to explore more into.

a goal I have for 2017 is to read more in three different categories
Classic Literature
Banned Books
Feminist Literature

Thanks to Thrift Books and Barnes and Nobles “Buy 2 get 1 free” on their classic editions, my classic book collection is starting to grow 🙂
Btw, if you’re wanting to expand your classic books for cheap then I recommend checking out Thriftbooks most of their classics are pretty cheap and in an acceptable condition. Thriftbooks also has something called Thrift Deals of “buy 2 for $7, buy 3 for $10, or buy 4 for $12” and if you’re in the US and spend over 10 dollars then your order qualifies for free shipping.

  1. This is awesome! A few I’ve read and liked. And then there’s one that I despise… The Old Man and the Sea. I just can’t stand that book, I’m sorry! But the rest, I liked. The Awakening, The Lord of the Flies, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, The Diary of Anne Frank 👍 As for John Steinbeck, I’ve only read one and I loved it at the time: The Pearl. If you find it, get it! You can probably read it in an hour and it stays with you.

    1. I haven’t read the pearl yet! I plan on picking up East of Eden soon so I will add it to my list 😊
I haven’t read the old man and the sea yet but I honestly haven’t heard that many great things about it. I just bought it to see for myself lol

  2. I read The Awakening in high school and really enjoyed it. I’ve been meaning to actually reread that at some point. I want to read more classics this year too. I don’t think I’ve ever read any that I didn’t have to read for school and I feel like I’m missing out on some great books!
