So I didnt much reading over my 4 day weekend 😦 but its because I didnt feel like reading fantasy. I realized too late that I was wanting to read some contemporary books and once I picked up one, I flew through it!
I read A Love Letter to Whiskey and by the end of it, I was so emotionally exhausted. It was like watching 9 months of soap operas crammed into 300 pages. Don’t get me wrong I did like it, I gave it 4 stars out of 5, but there was so much unnecessary drama.
Then I picked up This Girl and I was pretty bored reading it, thb. It’s just Will telling Lakeyn the events of Slammed as his memories and his side of things. I didn’t like Slammed and I don’t care for Lakeyn so it’s not shocking that I didn’t enjoy this.
I finally Just Listen on a whim and it was my first Sarah Dessen book, and I really enjoyed it. I couldn’t put it down and I didn’t want to put it down. Will definitely be reading more Sarah Dessen.
What are you currently reading?
Love and Gelato
by Jenna Evans Welch
So far I’m only two chapters in but I am really liking it.
What do you think you’ll read next?
This Lullaby
by Sarah Dessen
13 Reasons Why
by Jay Ashur
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
by Benjamin Alier Saenz
First and Then
by Emma Mills
I have heard great things about all of these and I am on a serious contemporary kick so I want to get to these asap.
There’s my reading plan for the week.
What are you reading this week?
Which book should I read next?
Any book with gelato in the title would get my vote 🙂
I hope you like Aristotle and Dante. I thought it was really good, although I enjoyed Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda more (A&D is more poetic and serious, Simon vs. is just more fun!).
Thanks for visiting my WWW earlier (https://clairehuston.wordpress.com/2016/11/30/www-wednesday-30th-november-2016/) and happy reading!

A Love Letter to Whiskey made my head hurt so bad, but I love the way it was written! AND OMG, Just Listen is my favorite Dessen book ever! This Lullaby is my second favorite Dessen book and I hope you enjoy that one as well! 🙂

Thanks! I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to This Lullaby. I got really excited when I saw it was about Remy and Dexter, like I had just seen them in Just Listen and now it’s their story 😊
I loved the writing for a love letter to whiskey, I really want to look into more of that authors writings
